Bald Eagle Near Boundary Bay Airport just south of Vancouver B.C. Canada, this Bald Eagle was one of the firtst things I photographed using my then almost new Nikon D70 and brand new to me (I just got it that day) Nikor 400mm f3.5 EDIF super telephoto. This eagle paid virtually no attention to me as I took these photos. The image is cropped a bit, but not too much, so I would say I was probably 30 meters from the base of the tree it was in. I have observed many eagles in the lower mainland, and compared to other more remote areas, the eagles in our area are much more accustomed to people, and are tolerant of our efforts to photograph them, unlike the eagles which gather in Squamish every winter. |
